What is energy management?

Part of what we do when approaching new clients is introduce a series of energy management principles. We use the phrase quite a bit in our day to day business because it’s a blanket coverall for a lot of what we do, but what is energy management, the text books will tell you the following:

Energy management is an essential strategy for all energy users who seek to minimise exposure to energy price volatility and reduce their carbon footprint and resource use. It can have further benefits for an organisation’s overall effectiveness and social responsibility.

People are at the centre of energy management; energy performance does not improve without active intervention. Energy management varies between organisations, but it starts with an individual taking initiative and asking questions about energy use. The intention is to help you understand your data and guide you to ask the questions that should be asked as energy management is introduced into your organisation.

Essentially for us it means that we can all work the data and present ideas and solutions, but we all need people to engage with the process because without them theres a much bigger chance the project may fail or no achieve the desired results
